Bears really active in Free Agency

March 18, 2012

Sorry Bear family to have not been active on my blog, but I’ve been rather busy lately. Good Free agency action for our Bears, picking up Pro Bowler Brandon Marshall, QB Jason Campbell, and Eric Weems, was a pretty good beginning for new General Manager Phil Emery. The resigning of Kahlil Bell and Tim Jennings was a good move also. Me myself, I would like to see more progress on the Matt Forte situation.

Also picking up Linebacker Blake Costanzo was a surprise for me, because the concern is that Corey Graham might not be returning for the Bears next season.

Bears Update

January 27, 2012

Been somewhat of a slow newsweek for Halas Hall, but a few things are going on. Julius Peppers will replace Jason Pierre-Paul at the Pro Bowl.

Mike Tice is out of the running as a candidate for the Raiders head coaching job. The General Manager position is down to two candidates, Phil Emery and Jason Licht.

Brian Urlacher admitted to using the painkiller Toradol, and stated that he would not admit to concussion symptoms.
He also stated that he is not a habitual user of Toradol.

Next on the agenda, finding a Quarterbacks coach. Greg Olson turned down the Bears offer to accept the same position with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

GM hunt picks up steam

January 20, 2012

Allrighty then Bear fans, let’s see what’s going on with our beloved team. Mike Martz did in fact retire, YaY! Jason Licht interviewed for the GM spot on Monday. They also refused the Vikings request to interview Jon Hoke for their defensive coordinator position, don’t blame them much for that, who wants to let a staff member go to an opposing team in your division?

The Giants college scouting director Marc Ross was interviewed on Wednesday for the GM spot, he was third behind Jason Licht and Jimmy Raye. Tim Ruskell was interviewed today. Mike Tice is being interviewed for the head coaching position after the Raiders released Hue Jackson.

On the Pro Bowl front, Matt Forte is going to attend his fist Pro Bowl, after passing his physical. He will be joined by corner Charles “Peanut” Tillman and special teamer Corey Graham.
